Kmart in Xenia to close

XENIA, Ohio (WDTN) – The Kmart store in Xenia will close to the public in late April, 2 NEWS has learned.

The closure is part of a series of actions to reduce ongoing expenses and accelerate the transformation of the company’s business model, company officials said.

The Xenia store’s 57 employees will be eligible to receive severance and have the opportunity to apply for open positions at area Sears or Kmart stores.

The store will begin its liquidation sale on Feb. 9.
