BEAVERCREEK, Ohio (WDTN) – Schools all over the Miami Valley were closed again on Tuesday.
Kids often love the break, but for parents figuring out childcare can be a problem.
Evergreen Children’s Center in Beavercreek offers a solution.
“We do not close unless there is a level 3 snow emergency,” Preschool Aide Ashley Green told 2 NEWS.
Since 1977, the center has closed only one time.
“We are child and parent centered. We have to be here for them, because they may or may not have the sick leave or vacation leave to take off if their work doesn’t close,” said Green.
Green said attendance fluctuates on snow days because many of the students’ parents work at Wright Patterson Air Force Base or are teachers. Therefore, if Beavercreek Schools or the base close, that typically means fewer children.
However, Gray said they also see a lot of new faces, because other parents may be in a pinch.
