Group working to save Piqua festival

PIQUA, Ohio (WDTN) – A grassroots effort now underway hopes social media will save a beloved festival.

The group has started up a Facebook page to save the Piqua Heritage Festival.

Board members voted to cancel the annual event last week after members decided they don’t have enough funds or volunteers to keep it going.

The group is 1,700 members strong.

The three day event was typically held over Labor Day weekend. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
