Piqua police officer suspended for tackling teen

PIQUA, Ohio (WDTN) – A Piqua police officer is now suspended after an internal investigation found he acted improperly when he tackled a teenager.

Officer Brett Marrs is suspended for 28 days.  He was also ordered to surrender his gun and badge.

Police say Marrs tackled a female teen who toilet papered his house last April.  The girl suffered a broken bone during the incident.

Officer Marrs was off-duty at the time, but an internal investigation ruled that he acted in a manner unbecoming an officer.

Marrs also signed a so-call Last Change Agreement that lists actions that could get him fired over the next two years.

His suspension began Monday and will intensive review by supervisors upon his return to the force.
