Salvation Army store opens in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WDTN) – The Salvation Army Thrift Store opened its doors in Springfield Saturday morning.

Springfield Mayor Warren Copeland was on hand for the ribbon cutting held at the new facility at 2996 Derr Road at 9 a.m.

Shoppers filled the aisles to browse for clothing and furniture while employees welcomed the community with coffee and donuts. Folks even had a chance to enter a raffle to win a television.

Officials said the store will support the adult rehabilitation center that the Salvation Army runs.

The Salvation Army Thrift Store will be open weekly Monday through Saturday 9 a.m. – 7 p.m.

You can donate to the Salvation army by dropping off items to any area stores or bins.
