Winter Weather Advisory: Extreme cold grips Miami Valley again

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A Wind Chill Advisory is in effect until 11:00 am Wednesday.

Clinton, Darke Greene, and Preble counties are under a Level 1 Snow Emergency, meaning roadways are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow. Roads may also be icy.

Ohio Department of Transportation crews plowed and salted interstates, U.S. and state routes throughout the region and reminded motorists to give them room to clear the way.

AAA Miami Valley reports they have has received nearly 250 requests for Emergency Roadside Assistance since midnight. Requests for battery service was one of the most common calls for help.

“We are going to have a good solid week of winter weather with temperatures dipping below zero,” said Storm Team 2 Chief Meteorologist Brian Davis.

The next round of light snow is possible Wednesday night.

Tuesday afternoon will be a struggle, and it looks like highs will only get up near 12-degrees.  It’s definitely a cold stretch this week:

After a few morning snow showers Tuesday, we will dry out until late Wednesday, when the next round of light snow is possible.  Active and cold–the pattern continues!
