Woman robbed, kidnapped when withdrawing cash from ATM

Middletown Police are investigating a reported armed robbery and kidnapping that happened Saturday afternoon.

Officers responded to the U.S. Bank in the 4400 block of Roosevelt Boulevard just after 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

According to officials a 56-year-old woman was withdrawing cash from the ATM machine when she was approached by a man who showed a gun and demanded cash. Officers said the suspect then forced her into her car at gunpoint and made her drive to the 1500 block of Jackson Lane.

The victim was not injured.

Police said the suspect is described as a white male, 5’10”, medium build, wearing a blue checkered flannel shirt, red hoodie and hat, and gray scarf. Detectives said he should be considered armed and dangerous.
