VANDALIA, Ohio (WDTN) — Three people were taken to the hospital following a crash at the I-75 and I-70 interchange.

The accident happened in the northbound lanes of Interstate 75 under the Interstate 70 overpass around 11 a.m. Sunday.

According to officials, a semi truck was traveling too close to a vehicle when it hit the rear end of the car and smashed the back end in. Officials had to pull one of the victims trapped inside the car.

The three people in the vehicle were transported to Miami Valley Hospital. The semi driver was uninjured.

Officials said the semi driver will likely be cited for failure to maintain distance.
