Suspect accused of burglary, arson in Clark County

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WDTN) – A Columbus, Ohio man was arrested in Clark County Saturday morning after deputies said he broke into a house and set in on fire.

Clark County Sheriffs Office received a call at 4:32 a.m. from a witness who said a man was running from 725 West Jackson Road and the house was on fire.

Deputies told 2 NEWS the witness held the suspect until they arrived on scene.

Through their investigation, deputies found that James J. Clemens, 28, allegedly made entry into the residence and set fire to the structure.

Clemens was placed under arrest for aggravated burglary and aggravated arson and booked into the Clark County Jail.
