Deep freeze a boost for area travel agents

BEAVERCREEK, Ohio (WDTN) – The extreme cold is keeping area travel agencies busy. More and more people are putting down their shovels and picking up their luggage.

“Lots of calls, lots of requests, lots of emails,” said Pat Buckholt, who owns Travel Flex in Beavercreek.  “People are cold. They feel like they’ve been house bound.”

Travel Flex has seen a 3 to 5 percent increase in sales this January alone. More people have also booked vacations this past November and December.
