KETTERING, Ohio (WDTN) – Kettering police say a teenager driving too fast caused a crash Tuesday night.

The crash happened at 8 p.m. in the 2900 block of San Rae Drive.

Police say the 16-year-old driver was going about 50 miles an hour in a 25 mph zone when he lost control of his SUV. It hit a pickup truck.

No one was seriously hurt, but five people were taken to the hospital.

The teen will be cited for having too many people in his car. He was cited for the same offense once already this week.

Minor drivers under 18 years old are only allowed one passenger that is not a family member in the State of Ohio.
