BEAVERCREEK, Ohio (WDTN) – Governor John Kasich made a stop in Beavercreek Wednesday evening for a fundraiser.

He spoke at the Greene County Republican Party Lincoln Day Dinner.

We asked the governor about the new manufacturer coming to town.

Earlier this month, Kasich announced Chinese automotive glass producer Fuyao will take over part of the old General Motors plant in Moraine.

He says it’s a big win for the State of Ohio.

“It could be that some people who are not in manufacturing, could get into manufacturing. We have a lot of people who don’t have jobs and let’s get them trained up, if they’re smart, and capable and hard workers maybe there’s a job for them there. Anytime, we’re up 170,000 jobs, which is good, but we have a long way to go. So, any of those victories are really positive for all of us,” said Governor John Kasich, Ohio.

Fuyao’s $200-million investment here will create about 800 new jobs over the next five years.

The company says it wants to hire locally.
