ENON, Ohio (WDTN)- Part of an Enon neighborhood was blocked off for five hours on Saturday after a routine medical call turned into a hazmat situation.

EMS crews were dispatched to Cardinal Drive around 2 p.m., but officials told 2 NEWS after they entered they home they found chemicals on the back porch.

Mad River-Enon Fire Chief Tracy Young said the homeowner’s grandson was mixing different chemicals together to clean metals.

Additional crews worked to contain the chemicals and make them safe.
