DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A mother is behind bars after Dayton Police say she assaulted her 20-year-old son with a meat tenderizer.
Brettina Young-Patrick, 51, was arrested Friday afternoon on felonious assault charges.
Officers were initially called to the 1500 block of Bancroft Drive around 4 p.m. Friday on reports of a domestic dispute.
According to police, Young-Patrick and her son went to look at his vehicle because it had been in an accident the previous day. Young-Patrick told police her son was upset and kept “mouthing off.” When the two got back home, her son went into his room and turned on the television. Young-Patrick told police she turned the TV off since he kept “mouthing off.”
Her son said he was upset and he kept turning the television back on, and that’s when his mom hit him with the tenderizer.
Officers said he had visible marks on his forehead and a cut on his nose. They stated he had blood stains on his hands and skin.
Young-Patrick was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on felonious assault.
She is expected to appear in court Monday.
