DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Officers are investigating a break-in at a local demolition contractor’s office.

Police were called to Rauch Inc. at 1550 Soldiers Home West Carrollton Road after 5 a.m. Sunday on an alarm activation.

When officials arrived on scene, they found a window shattered and  fresh muddy footprints on the grass into the office area. Once inside, officers discovered muddy footprints on the desk tops and glass scattered throughout the office from the broken window.

The business key-holder was called to the scene and determined that two computer monitors had been stolen.

Police said they believe the suspects walked through a wooded area and then cut the metal wire fence with wire cutters to get into the business. Officers said they weren’t able to find footprints leading away from the business.

Police are hoping to review footage from the security cameras inside the building.
