Dog shot in jaw, police looking for suspects

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Police are investigating after a Dayton man’s dog was shot.

Crews were called to the intersection of Fountain Avenue and Linda Vista just before 4 p.m. Saturday.

The owner told police his bulldog pit-bull mix, named Zeus, was shot when he got loose from the backyard of his home.

He told officers when he went looking for the dog, he saw two teens walking in the area. He said when Zeus approached them, one of the teens pulled out a small caliber pistol and fired one shot hitting Zeus in the jaw. The owner told police the two teens then kept on walking.

Officials with the Animal Resource Center responded to the scene. The dog was taken to an emergency veterinarian.

Police are still looking for the suspects.
