LEBANON, Ohio (WDTN) – Three people are going to prison for their roles in a statewide crime ring.
Larry Cobb, 55, was found guilty of sneaking into businesses across the state and stealing credit cards and cash from unsuspecting employees.
Kristina Petty, 37, and Deshawn Mitchell, 35 were found guilty of using the stolen cards and cash to buy electronics, gift cards and other items.
A fourth defendant, Jodie Petty, 31, was sentenced to community control.
“These individuals were part of a large crime ring that stole credit cards out of the purses and wallets of unsuspecting employees in offices stretching from Cincinnati to Youngstown and many places in between,” Attorney General Mike DeWine said. “We are grateful to the many law enforcement agencies that helped to investigate these crimes and put an end to this scam.”
35 law enforcement agencies across the state worked to break this case. The Warren County Prosecutor’s Officeworked worked alongside the Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the Ohio Attorney General’s Office.
