WEST CARROLLTON, Ohio (WDTN)- “We’ve been hit pretty good this year,” says Dayton Mall Lowe’s Manager Steve Dolan.

Rushing to re-stock.  Stores like the Lowe’s at the Dayton Mall say winter supplies are flying off the shelves.

“With the snow and the amount of snow we’ve seen this year, salt and heaters have become very, very difficult to come by.  Our manufacturers just can’t even get them to us quick enough. Not only has Ohio been hit, but we’ve had all these other cities and other states being hit.  So, everybody is just out of everything,” explains Dolan.

Dolan says snow blowers are also sold out.

“We had a run on them. In fact, all I had left sold this morning.  Everybody with this snow and it was tough snow because it was heavy snow.  It was wet snow.  So, trying to shovel that by hand was tough,” comments Dolan.

He says there are some things you can do indoors to stay warm.

“You want to insulate your doors.  You want to insulate your windows and Lowe’s has plenty of that product in stock.  That helps at least keep that cold air out of your house and helps your energy bill,” says Dolan.

Lowe’s still has shovels and ice scrapers in stock.  They hope to get another supply of heaters and salt soon. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
