DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – It’s easy to run into problems while driving when snow is falling and the road is slick. That is why many people were prepared to jump into action when they saw someone in need.
Nathan Jones helped his neighbors dig out of the snow for a little extra cash Wednesday morning.
“They asked me to clear off their cars,” explained Jones. “I went ahead and took care of that so she can go to work. She is an RN.”
The Dayton man wasn’t the only one spotted outside, lending a hand to those who were struggling in this wintry blast.
Ed Kislig helped clear his wife’s car of snow, as well as its parking space.
“I try to break the ice and snow with my shovel,” said Kislig. ” Get it out of the way and then I have the scraper for the cars. I also use lots of salt in hopes it starts melting it.”
Kislig hadn’t ventured on the roads yet, but some people who did slid into some trouble. Slick and snow covered roads wreaked havoc on drivers. Video captured 2 NEWS reporter Jordan Burgess and Chief Photographer Kris Sproles helping push a car out of a ditch on State Route 741 near Alex Bell Road in West Carrollton.
