School bus crashes with students on board

TROTWOOD, Ohio (WDTN) – A school bus was involved in an accident in Trotwood Thursday morning.

A Dayton Public Schools bus reared-ended a parked car at 3761 Brumbaugh Boulevard near the intersection of Free Pike around 6:30.

The owner of the car that was hit told 2 NEWS she was awakened by the sound of the crash outside her house. She said the bus driver told her she was sorry and that she “slipped.”

There were nine students on the bus, but known were reported injured, however one parent insisted that medics take her child to a local hospital for observation. The other children were checked by medics at the scene. All the children were then transported on to school.

A spokesperson for Dayton Public Schools said the driver slide on the ice.
