Go Red for Women campaign kicks off

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Red will be the color of the day Friday as WDTN helps raise awareness about heart disease in women.

2 NEWS is a sponsor for the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women campaign.

The kickoff event was held at at the Dayton Racquet Club Thursday evening.

It included healthy snacks, chair massages and health screenings.

“We’re creating awareness and trying to help women really focus on healthy eating, exercising and really taking charge of their life,” said Kelley Dixon, Executive Director.

Heart disease is the number one killer in women.

You are asked to wear red Friday to help raise awareness.

Several local landmarks will also turn red including the Stewart Street Bridge in Dayton, the Dayton International Airport tower, the Greene Town Center and the Nutter Center.
