Bank heist suspect caught in an hour

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WDTN) – It took Springfield Police less than an hour to catch a bank robbery suspect Tuesday morning.

Springfield Police Chief Steve Moody told 2 NEWS the man walked into PNC Bank on South Limestone Street around 9:30 a.m. and demanded money.

Officers arrested the suspect at a house in the 500 block of Homeview Avenue after being tipped by a citizen about the getaway car.

The man is also suspected in a Certified Gas Station holdup on East Main Street in Springfield Monday night.
