DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Miami Valley emergency crews are the owners of some new hardware.

The Dayton Regional Hazmat Team was given a John Deere Gator ATV and new communications equipment at the Dayton Fire Department’s Station 11.

The vehicle and equipment were donated by Sugar Creek Packing, where the Hazmat crews often train.

“This Gator will afford us the opportunity to move equipment and personnel at hazardous materials training and incident scenes where often we have to move long distances over rough terrain, this will help mitigate emergencies and conduct training in a safe manner,” said Jeffrey Payne, Interim Chief.
