Urbana University names new president

URBANA, Ohio (WDTN) – Urbana University named its 22nd president.

The university announced Thursday that Interim President Dr. Kirk Peterson accepted the permanent role as chief executive.

He’s been serving as interim since April 2013.

“We are pleased that Dr. Peterson has accepted this permanent role as chief executive to serve the Board of Trustees, faculty, staff and students at Urbana University,” said Dr. Steven Polsley, Board of Trustees Chairman. “With his energetic vision and passion for our school, we are confident that Kirk will lead us into a prosperous future, creating new relevant programs that will leverage strengths of our liberal arts core and innovative, styles of online, hybrid and traditional learning.”

Dr. Peterson arrived at Urbana University in 2010 as Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs/Dean of Faculty.
