DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – 2 NEWS Investigates just obtained video of the dangerous dogs that mauled a woman to death. It was recorded by the victim herself.

Klonda Richey, 57, was attacked and killed by her neighbors’ two mixed-mastiff dogs right in front of her home.

The surveillance video recorded from Richey’s multiple cameras mounted on her home, which she hoped would prove to authorities that her neighbors’ dogs were dangerous.

Richey submitted the videos as evidence when she went to court in January of 2013, trying to get a protection order against that neighbor.

2 NEWS filed a motion with Montgomery County Common Pleas Court so you can see for yourself.

You see in the video that Richey was having a privacy fence built to further separate her from the threat.

Her neighbor steps over the fence toward Richey. In another, you see dogs near a man putting up the fence.

At night, you see one of the dogs off a leash, running in her driveway.

Yet another shows the neighbor on his back porch and you see the size of both dogs.

Since her death, 2 NEWS Investigates has gathered example after example that Richey reached out to authorities asking for protection from these dogs and the neighbor she says threatened her.

Sixteen 911 calls and 12 reports were made to the Montgomery County Animal Resource Center. Now, there is the video.

The owners of the dogs were arrested, then released. Police are still investigating and prosecutors tell us charges could be filed in this case.
