Man killed, officer injured in shooting


HAMILTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Police are investigating following an officer involved shooting in Hamilton.

Officials were called to the 1100 block of Sipple Avenue around 7 a.m. Saturday.

According to officials, officers were initially dispatched after residents complained of shots fired in the neighborhood.

When officers arrived, the confronted the suspect who was firing the shots. There was an exchange of gunfire in which the suspect was killed and one officer was injured.

The injured officer has been identified as Chad Stafford. He was transported to the University of Cincinnati Hospital and is listed in stable condition. He is 44-years-old and has been with the department for 16 years.

The suspect has been identified as 18-year-old Brandon Keeler.
