DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A Dayton woman is behind bars after police say she assaulted her own brother with a knife.

Tameka Groce, 37, was arrested on charges of aggravated menacing and felonious assault.

Officers were called to an apartment in the 3100 block of Valerie Arms Drive just before 12:30 a.m. Sunday on reports of a stabbing.

According to police, Donnil Groce, Tameka’s brother was in the back bedroom with his girlfriend. When he went into the main room to light a cigarette, Tameka became agitated and an argument ensued. Donnil told police his sister hit him several times. He said Tameka grabbed a knife and chased him around the apartment. Donnil told officers as he tried to get away and prevent Tameka from stabbing him, Tameka cut his finger with a knife.

Tameka was arrested and booked into the Montgomery County Jail. She is expected to appear in court Tuesday.
