Balloon knocks out power in Miami Township

MIAMI TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) — A power outage affected a large area in Miami Township Sunday.

Several businesses in the area of SR 741 near the Dayton Mall lost power just before 4 p.m.

Red Lobster and Frisch’s were among those that lost power.

DP&L reported more than 1,800 lost power in the area.

DP&L officials told 2 NEWS a mylar balloon got caught up in a wire causing the outage.

According to DP&L officials, as of 5:05 p.m., all power had been restored in the area.
