Icy roads leave buses stuck

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Last night’s freezing rain and snow left a lot of icy road conditions for the morning commute.

Those conditions were a particular problem for a couple of area school bus drivers. Two buses got stuck on a patch of ice at the intersection of Kensington Drive and St. James Avenue in Dayton.

There were five students on the first stuck bus. It is unknown how many students were on the second bus.

One of the bus drivers told 2 NEWS there were at least 20 other Dayton buses stuck on the ice this morning.

Many area school districts hoped a delayed start to their day would allow buses and students to arrive safely.
