Dayton man sentenced for murder

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A Dayton man was sentenced to prison Wednesday afternoon.

Samuel White, 27, will spend 18 years to life for murdering Bryan Coatney, 40, in the doorway of his East Parkwood Drive home in April 2012.

Prosecutors said the defendant was dating Coatney’s ex-girlfriend at the time of the shooting.

The jury found White guilty of murder and felonious assault on February 3.
