DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – PepsiCo plans to close down production operations in Dayton.

The beverage company announced Thursday that the facility on Milburn Avenue will stop producing beverages immediately.

“This difficult decision was made with careful consideration and we’re committed to providing support to affected employees by offering outplacement services,” said Gina Anderson, Media Relations Director for PepsiCo.

Approximately 30 employees will be affected by the closure.  The company said a majority of employees will remain at the Dayton facility, however, working in warehouse and sales positions.

PepsiCo cites the need for the closure is due to improve efficiency, fund future investments, and be more competitive.
