WEST CARROLLTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A convicted burglar is formally charged with the aggravated murder and robbery of an elderly West Carrollton woman.

Travis Burke, 24, was indicted Friday by a Montgomery County grand jury.

He is accused of killing Edith King, 81.  King’s daughter found her mother dead inside her home on Windsor Court in April 2013.  She was stabbed multiple times.  Her car was stolen.  It was recovered outside a housing complex on Limestone Avenue in Dayton after a long search.

Investigators say Burke was King’s neighbor.

He is already serving a two year prison sentence for an unrelated burglary.

Burke faces a total of ten charges.  He is scheduled for arraignment March 6.
