DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A crash closed Salem Avenue when a driver knocked down a pole and flipped his car.
According to police, the driver was heading southbound on Salem Avenue just after 6 a.m. Saturday. Officers said he went across four lanes of traffic, severed a utility pole, knocked down RTA wires, and flipped his car.
The driver was treated at the scene by medics, but refused to be transported to the hospital.
DP&L was called to the scene to repair the pole and downed lines.
Salem ave is expected to be closed most of the morning while repairs are made.
Police believe the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel causing the crash.
