DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — The U-D women hit the basketball court Saturday afternoon to give back to the community.

The team spent time shooting hoops and running drills with kids and adults with developmental disabilities.

Both players and coaches agree that it’s important for them to be involved with the community.

“I truly believe that you should always really commit yourself to community service, remaining humble, things like that,” said Sophomore guard Amber Deane. “Don’t get to caught up in your highs or your lows and just always give back.”

“To give service here like this puts things into perspective, puts the game in perspective and there’s always enough time and there’s always enough room to help people,” said UD women’s head coach Jim Jabir.

This was the tenth year for the event.
