HUBER HEIGHTS, Ohio (WDTN) A possible murder charge against the suspect in a Huber Heights homicide investigation, has been cleared. But that man remains in jail.
Melissa Nilson, 26, was found dead in the yard of a Cree Avenue home Friday evening. Police say Ryan Mitchell was seen speeding away from the scene and was later taken into custody at a nearby bar.
Sunday, we spoke with jail officials about Mitchell. They confirmed he’s been cleared of a possible murder charge. He is now charged with failing to stop after an accident and theft of a motor vehicle.
His bond has now been set at $2 million.
We left a message with Huber Heights Police for more information about the case, but have not yet heard back.
