Woman assaults Family Dollar workers in robbery

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Dayton Police are investigating after a woman attempted to rob a dollar store and assaulted employees.

Police were called to the Family Dollar at 3222 Salem Avenue after 3:45 p.m. Saturday.

According to officers, a woman walked into the store and tried to steal merchandise. When two employees confronted her, a struggle ensued. The bag of merchandise ripped open, and the suspect hit one of the employees in the face and bit her cheek.

The suspect then fled the scene on foot.

The suspect is described as a black female, 5’7″, medium build, light skinned complexion, wearing a green jacket and tan pants.

According to police, the woman tried to steal several packs of socks, curtains, candles, and air fresheners.

No arrests have been made.

Police are still investigating the incident.
