DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The Dayton Metro Library is looking for a few good construction crews.

Library leaders held an outreach event Monday night at the Crowne Plaza for construction companies looking to be a part of the library’s planned expansion.

The event included an overview of the library’s plan, plus a timeline for stage one of the $187 million project.

The Libraries for a Smarter Future initiative will triple the amount of public space at the library, add an auditorium, additional parking and more computers.

The library will also take control and use the building that once housed Hauer Music. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
