DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – One person is in custody following a robbery attempt at a Dayton McDonald’s Tuesday morning.

Investigators told 2 NEWS a man walked into the restaurant at 1700 N. Keowee St. around 11:00 and demanded money from an employee before going behind the counter in an attempt to to get at a cash drawer.

When that didn’t work, he approached a manager, who also refused to cooperate.

Officers said the suspect then ran from the store and was spotted crossing the Keowee Street bridge, changing his clothes along the way.

Police quickly arrived and made the arrest.

The restaurant was full at the time of the incident. The suspect acted as if he had a gun, but no weapon was displayed.

The name of the suspect has not been released.

No injuries were reported.
