UNION CITY, Indiana (WDTN) – A Union City man is in critical condition after a crash on Interstate 70 Tuesday.

Dustin Alexander, 33, was flown to Miami Valley Hospital by the Careflight helicopter just before 2:00 p.m.

Indiana State Police say Alexander drove his car into the median to pass a car in the left lane. They say he was speeding at the time. He lost control and hit a semi truck.

Troopers say Alexander was not wearing his seat belt, but say his wife and two children were and did not get injured.

The truck driver, Youssef Youseff, 30, of New Jersey, was not hurt.

Westbound I-70 in Wayne County was closed for more an hour and half while crews cleared the scene.
