Trial begins for movie theater shooting suspect

HUBER HEIGHTS, Ohio (WDTN) – A trial is underway for the 19 year old man accused of shooting a movie theater manager.

Opening statements began Tuesday.

Michael Cartwright, III faces two counts of felonious assault and two counts of aggravated robbery.

Investigators say he shot Anika Emmanuel, 22, as she was leaving the Danbarry Cinemas in Huber Heights last June with the night’s deposit.
