GREENVILLE, Ohio (WDTN) – An argument led to the arrest of an auxiliary deputy for the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.

Bryan Wombolt, 27, is charged with four counts of sexual battery.  He was also terminated from his job.

The charges come after Miami County deputies investigated a domestic dispute in Bradford Wednesday morning.

They say allegations were made at that time accusing Wombolt of an inappropriate relationship with a female student at Greenville High School.  Investigators say he served as a security officer there.

“When you’re wearing a sheriff’s uniform, people think that you can be trusted, and we hope to re-instill that. They should be able to be trusted. and because the actions of one person, now we have to rebuild that reputation,” said Darke County Sheriff Toby Spencer.

Wombolt is being held in the Preble County Jail. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
