TROY, Ohio (WDTN) – Miami County Sheriff’s deputies are looking for a man they suspect of stealing catalytic converters.

They gave chase to car in I-75 early Friday morning after the driver refused to stop for a traffic violation.

The driver bailed out on County Road 25 in Concord Township and disappeared on foot.

Searching the car, deputies found exhaust pipes, catalytic converters, rims, bolt and pipe cutters, and an Ohio ID card belonging to an Adam Johnson.

Deputy Duchak told 2 NEWS the tools found in the car are used to steal catalytic converters, which are then sold for scrap metal.
