ENGLEWOOD, Ohio (WDTN) – The Ohio Department of Transportation is already pre-treating area roads in anticipation of the coming storm.
“When the snow does come it will allow the snow to melt upon contact,” says Kyle Reindel, ODOT District 7 Transportation Manager.
Right now, ODOT District 7 has crews coming in starting at midnight on Saturday. They and other drivers will trade shifts clearing the snow and ice until Tuesday.
Just another storm in a winter full of them.
“We’re kind of at the downhill stretch,” Reindel says. “We still have that same intensity we did in November and December.”
Crews hope drivers will have the same patience they’ve had this winter.
“Just be aware we’re out there,” says ODOT driver Marc Gunder. “With these trucks when we’re plowing stuff, we can’t do 70 miles per hour when we plow.”
Gunder says he doesn’t mind handling another storm because the job comes with its benefits.
“Your family is going to get home safe,” Gunder says. “That’s the biggest thing.”
