Officers investigate grand theft auto


DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) –Dayton Police are investigating a grand theft auto.

Police were called to the Rut’s Drive-Thur at 32 North James H McGee Boulevard after 8 p.m. Thursday.

According to witnesses, the incident happened just north of the drive-thru at the Whale Shark restaurant located at 100 James H. McGee Boulevard.

The victim said he started up his car, left it running, and then went back inside the restaurant. While inside, he spotted a man get into his car. The victim ran out of the restaurant, opened the door and began to wrestle with the suspect. The suspect kicked the man out of the car and the car sped away.

The car is a silver 4-door, 2009 Dodge Caliber.
