DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Dayton Police are investigating after a man was assaulted at a bar.

Officers were called to Connell’s Bar at 3105 East Third Street after 9 p.m. Friday on an assault call.

When officers arrived, they found 49-year-old David Jones with a gash on his forehead.

According to officers, Jones had been served with a temporary protection order Thursday, February 27 that stated he couldn’t go near another man.

Jones had been drinking at Connell’s Bar and playing pool in the side room Friday. Jones and other witnesses told police the man who he had a protection order against came into the bar and began hitting Jones over the head with his fist. Witnesses said the man then left the bar.

Police are still investigating the incident.
