Woman ID’d in deadly crash at WPAFB

WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE (WDTN) — The Xenia post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating after a woman was killed when she crashed her car into a perimeter fence at Wright-Paterson Air Force Base.

Troopers were contacted early Sunday morning when base officials spotted the car into the fence.

A preliminary investigation reveals 30-year-old Lauren Bodey of Kettering was driving northeast on SR 444 around 3:30 a.m. Sunday when she lost control and slammed into the fence.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers are still investigating the cause of the crash.
