DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Dozens of churches cancelled services Sunday because of the winter blast that hit the Miami Valley in the morning.

But despite the weather, some churches decided to remain open and hold services.

Church-goers at the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church on Gettysburg Avenue braved the winter mix to take part in Sunday worship.

Victory in Power Ministries on Oakridge Drive also remained open for those who wanted to take part in Sunday worship despite the slippery conditions.

“I took it slow, and you know, took it at a pace,” said Jamar Smith who attended church at Victory Power Ministries. “It was a little slippery, a little slidey, but I got to the House of God and I’m feeling good.”
