XENIA, Ohio (WDTN) – The Ohio State Highway Patrol says its efforts to stop impaired drivers are paying off.

For the second year in a row, troopers say they issued more than 24,000 OVI citations.

OVI related crashes accounted for 33 percent of all deadly crashes in Ohio in 2013, down from an average of 43 percent from 2010 to 2012.

Last year, state troopers from the Xenia post arrested 321 impaired drivers in the Greene County area.

Officials say you can help by calling #677 to report impaired drivers.
