SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WDTN) – The 14-year-old girl who the Clark County sheriff said disappeared with a 44-year-old man last week was in court Monday.
At today’s hearing in Clark County Juvenile Court, a judge entered a denial to two charges on the girl’s behalf.
She faces a charge of delinquency by reason of inducing panic and a charge of delinquency by reason of interfering with custody.
Springfield police caught Mark Edwards Friday night just after 9:30 p.m. with the girl who officers said left with him voluntarily Tuesday night. Officers said she was Ok when they found her.
Edwards faces three charges – violation of a protection order, domestic violence, and interfering with custody. He was scheduled into court this week for a previous attempted flight with the same girl. The Sept. 30, 2013 incident ended with him charged with kidnapping and rape.
The girl will remain in juvenile detention until a pre-trial hearing scheduled for March 11.
