SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WDTN) – An Ohio Edison lineman was hurt Tuesday when the bucket truck he was working from collapsed.

Ohio Edison says the accident happened around 10:00 a.m. Tuesday morning on Providence Avenue.

Spokesperson Mark Durbin says a crew of five was working to replace a pole. The lineman was about 20 to 25 feet in the air inside a bucket when it collapsed. The lineman fell to the ground.

He was taken to Miami Valley Hospital by the Careflight helicopter, but he is expected to be okay.

Ohio Edison says the lineman is a 25-year employee. They did not release his name.

Ohio Edison and OSHA are now investigating.

A Duke Energy employee was killed just last week after a fall from a pole that snapped during replacement in Warren County.
